Xtra Point Football is a general football blog that mainly covers the issues surrounding the NFL and it's teams. Though the NFL is our main focus we do produce content covering NCAA football and even some high profile high school events. Though Xtra Point Football has been successful with this format we truly aspire to be more than just a resource for in depth content, opinion editorials, and breaking news updates. Our main goal is to establish a community that shares the joys and pains of being a football fanatic no matter the team. We feel the best approach to fostering such a community is to provide weekly features that engage our followers.  The following is what you can expect:

The Directors Cut:
Let's face it. We live in a digital world that promotes visual stimulation from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to bed. We have TV's in our homes, in our cars, in our bedrooms, on our phones, and everywhere else in between.  "The Directors Cut" is Xtra Point Football's weekly post that joins in on the fun. Each week we will post the best video submitted that relates to anything football. The only guideline being that the video MUST relate to football in some shape or form.

Videos don't have to be professional in nature. If you have a smart phone that records and you witness something fun and exciting at your local teams event then please share. We've featured anything from crazy tailgaters to gridiron glory at the Pee Wee Football level. The only guideline is the video must be interesting, funny, informative or unique and MUST be football related.  If you or someone you know has something to share then feel free to submit your video by "Contacting Us." Who knows? You could make "The Directors Cut!"

Monday Night Football Open Thread:
During each Monday Night Football Game, Extra Point Football will post an "Open Thread" on it's main page that's open to everyone with something to say. The thread will be "THE FORUM" to chat, trash talk, enlighten, and taunt your fellow bloggers via Bloguins livefrye comments section.

Livefrye (the comment section on All bloguin articles) allows users to leave comments on Bloguin, Twitter, and Facebook simultaneously. Why is this important? Well, in addition to trash talking with the current Bloguin community you can air your dirty laundry via Twitter and Facebook. What's better than sharing your wisdom to the world? Well, burning your cocky buddy publicly in the front of the world comes to mind. Do you have to trash talk? Absolutely not. Many times the "Open Thread" becomes a virtual Barber Shop if you will. People sharing stories, tips, advice, and friendly conversations.

This is a new series for Xtra Point Football that will begin during the 2011 NFL season. "OPEN THREADS" will be posted ONE HOUR before kickoff of the early (Eastern Time Zone) game. The thread will remain open throughout both east and west MNF games.

The View From Your Seat:
We encourage our community to do more than just read about football. We want you to get out there and attend and participate in events as well. Hopefully you capture a few of these moments and share them with your fellow Xtra Point Football community. Whether your in the club seats, nose bleeds, or just tailgating we want to share your joy with others in hopes of encouraging others to get out there and do the same. We realize that everyone can't go to NFL or NCAA games so we encourage pictures from High School, Pee Wee League, Stadium Tours, Rec Leagues and so forth. If it relates to football and you're out there doing it we want to share it. Submit Here

Moving the Chains: The Daily Links:
Xtra Point Football is primarily an NFL blog but we do post content involving anything football. With that said, you may find it hard to beleive but Xtra Point Football can't report the news on all 32 NFL teams much less the 200+  NCAA division 1A and 1AA teams. "Moving the Chains: The Daily Links" is your daily one page source that highlights everything football from that specific day.
