Last night the Boston Bruins showed the NHL that last year's Eastern Conference power house isn't dead. The Bruins skated with the Penguins and showed NHL Golden Boy Sidney Crosby the time out chair as he was held to only two shots and zero points.
Matt Hunwick got the Bruins on the scoreboard first, netting his fourth goal of the season 1:36 into the second period. After a review, it was determined that the goal was allowed (clearly). Dan Paille also got in on the action, scoring early in the third period (3:34 into the third) and Patrice Bergeron ended it with an empty net goal.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Good:
Patrice Bergeron. I wrote about Bergy being the life blood of the Bruins with Marc Savard and Milan Lucic being out and I stand behind it. It is clear that Bergy is back into form before his concussion, but now has learned to play defense as well. Bergeron now has six goals on the season, two away from last season's tally, which should mean something. The offense is chugging (and by chugging, I mean seven goals in two games) and Bergeron is a big part of it.
Tim Thomas. What can I say about Tim? Every time I rip Tim Thomas or question his ability, he has a good game. In my Bruins/Pens preview, I mentioned that Thomas has played well in his last three games, well add this one to the list. Thomas stopped all twenty seven shots he faced last night and earned his second shutout of the season.
The Bad:
Dennis Wideman. Learn to skate backwards. What the hell man, are you drinking before you step onto the ice? Last Thursday against Montreal, Wideman wiped out Mark Stuart and gave Glen Metropolite a breakaway chance that Metro put into the back of the net. Last night, Wideman fell AGAIN skating backwards. Wideman, you suck.
The Ugly:
Sidney Crosby. Two shots and zero points last night? Zero points in your last five games!? Wow!
Win Of The Night:

Hell yeahhhhh! I DVR'd the Bruins game and played a good 4-5 hours of Modern Warfare 2 with my CPF crew. This game is freaking awesome!
Stat Of The Night:
Sidney Crosby is now at five games without a point. His previous streak was four games. What's the deal Sid? You cry baby bitch!
