Clearly embracing his role as a back-up quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Sage Rosenfels was already spotted at the team's practice facility carrying around a clipboard.
"If it's my place to hold [a clipboard] on the sideline, I'm gonna do it to the best of my ability," said Rosenfels, still clutching a fat clip 12 by 18 clipboard even though practice had ended several hours earlier. "When you think about it, its a huge compliment for a coaching staff to trust a player enough to do nothing but just hold a clipboard. Take a look around the league. Even some of the top quarterbacks never get to do it. Probably because they're totally inept. Like Peyton Manning."
Rosenfels says he would lead the league in clipboard holding, 'if there was actually a statistic for it.'
"It's unofficial, since I kept track myself, but I led the entire NFL last year with 2,165 clipboard holds and 1,298 carries of the sideline polaroid binder. I think Charlie Frye was on my heels for a little bit, but then he had to actually play in 3 games. Sucks to be him."
Rosenfels says he also plans to look 'way cool' on the sideline by wearing either a backwards cap or a backwards, upside down visor.
