Upon learning that he will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, career rushing leader Emmit Smith said he was 'belated' to get 'vetoed' into the Hall, to take his place next to other all-time greats.
"It truly be a belated feeling," said Smith. "Because I am the all-time rushing leader, most thought it was invincible that I would be given the rice of passages and get vetoed in on my first try, but that don't diminish the happenings and exclaims I am feeling right now."
Smith says he is truly blessed to be recognized as having had a hall of fame career.
"This is a once or twice in a lifetime opportunity. To be preserved as an all-time great truly be a immerse feeling. I cannot put into words exactly how I feel at this point, other than to say I am completely exhalating."
