A thrilling 101-96 double overtime victory by Kansas State over Xavier took its toll on the Wildcat players. Head coach Frank Martin says his team is much too worn out to continue any further, and has withdrawn from the NCAA Tournament.

"I expected it to be difficult, but not like this," said Martin. "It was such a hard fought game, I worry we have nothing left. We did advance to the Elite Eight, which is still a pretty good season, and I congratulate Butler on making it to the Final Four. Our guys have nothing to hang their heads about, even though they're so tired they can't help but hang their heads."

Martin is proud of his players leaving it out on the floor.

"They literally left it out on the floor. Jacob Pullen played the entire second overtime without a left arm after it fell off. Yes, it was below the elbow, but that's still a big deal. I'm also pretty sure I stepped in Curtis Kelly's small intestine on the way to the locker room."
