Superagent Scott Boras says he is 'pretty sure' Stephen Strasburg, would be 'really good' at selling insurance if this whole baseball thing doesn't quite work out like originally planned, and is working on a long-term agreement for his client with State Farm Insurance.

"Stephen Strasburg is an extraordinary, iconic talent that, by my assessment, could be the greatest insurance salesman the industry has ever known," said Boras. "State Farm, Pacific Life and really anyone else that's hiring right now would be very fortunate to have him."

Boras is more than confident in Strasburg's abilities in what is a highly competitive job field.

"He's a different cat, so I have no apprehensions about him being able to sell insurance - life, auto, home - you name it. There's virtually no risk in hiring this guy. Unless he suffers some type of debilitating injury that prevents him from performing his job, in which case I hope he'd protect himself with some type of long-term disability policy."

Strasburg says selling insurance will be a new challenge, but he wants to be the best at it.

"Luckily, San Diego State prepared me for life after baseball," said Strasburg. "No I didn't graduate, but I did take some classes that dealt with numbers, math and computer skills and stuff that will probably come in handy."

Currently, Boras and State Farm are far apart on the terms of a contract, but Boras is using a rumored agreement with an Esurance call center as leverage if the insurance agency fails to give in to his demands for a $2000 sign-on bonus.
