Baseball's winter meetings are underway, and of course the Yankees are again making the headlines, this time with their role in a three team trade that brought them Curtis Granderson from the Tigers. Several teams have been relatively quiet so far, including the Royals, whose general manager, Dayton Moore, swears he's in attendance at the meetings.

"Oh yeah, I've been here everyday," said Moore, from what was said to be a terrible cell phone connection. "I'm just being patient before finalizing some trade proposals and free agent contract offers. The fact I haven't made any moves yet doesn't indicate I'm not at the meetings. Royals fans can rest easy, because I am working long, difficult hours."

A loud band was heard playing loudly in the background, and it was difficult to hear everything Moore was saying as he tried to reiterate that yes, indeed, he was present in Indianapolis.

"What's that? No, I didn't skip the meetings to go on vacation at a Jamaican resort or anything," shouted Moore, completely unprompted. "We always have loud music playing at the winter meetings. It, uh....helps us concentrate. Besides, this band is really popular in...uh where am I again? Indianapolis. Yep. I am definitely in Indianapolis at baseball's winter meetings and not at a resort in Jamaica."

Moore then forgot to end the call, and was heard asking if the swim up bar at the pool would be re-opening anytime soon.
