At last, former Cardinals slugger and current Cardinals hitting coach Mark McGwire has divulged the details of his past. He finally admitted to playing baseball in the major leagues for fifteen seasons.

"Yes, it's true," said McGwire. "I was a major leaguer for approximately fifteen seasons. I broke into the big leagues with the Oakland A's, and finished my career with the St. Louis Cardinals. Whew. Glad to finally get that off my chest. It's an emotional time, and I thank those close to me for standing by my side all these years."

This admission by McGwire does not come as a surprise to anyone.

"Uh, yeah, thanks for the stunning news Mark," said one fan. "We already knew you played baseball. Remember all those people wearing your jersey and chanting your name? Or the famous home run chase of 1998? The news of McGwire having played baseball is hardly earth shattering. Maybe if he admitted cheating the game somehow I'd pay closer attention."
