Scott Stuart/FlickrFormer Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has spurned an offer to play in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who own his CFL negotiating rights, because he says the memorabilia business he and a few partners started up a while ago is really starting to bring in some big bucks.
"Terrelle reviewed the proposal sent by Saskatchewan, and he is not interested at this time," said Pryor's attorney Larry James from the offices of Terrelle Pryor Autographs and Memorabilia.net in suburban Columbus. "He wouldn't go into great detail as to why he is saying no, but I'm guessing the offer was not enticing when compared to the income he could rake in at a weekend autograph signing at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center in Fairborn, Ohio."
Terrelle Pryor Autographs and Memorabilia.net has a vast inventory that includes hundreds of souvenirs from Pryor's playing days—championship rings, team awards, game worn helmets and jerseys, practice gear, other used equipment and bowl game swag.
"I guarantee each piece of memorabilia is authentic, and was given to or somehow acquired by me during my days at Ohio State," said Pryor himself in front of promotional posters that will be used to advertise the Terrell Pryor Autographs and Memorabilia.net barnstorming tour throughout Ohio. "I look forward to meeting you and selling you my stuff at some hotel, convention center, football camp or maybe even a shopping mall."
If his business takes an unexpected downturn, or the market becomes too saturated with Terrelle Pryor collectibles, the former Buckeye plans to complete his degree or hope some NFL team is dumb enough to take him.
