Daniel Amaral/FlickrFollowing his record setting night where he passed Reggie Miller to set the mark for 3-pointers made in a career, Celtics guard Ray Allen recounted each of the 2,562 3-point field goals he had made since joining the league in 1996.
"There was that one off a backscreen by Tim Thomas in the 2nd quarter in Atlanta — great pass by Sam Cassell so I could catch and shoot," said Allen, unwilling to give in to fatigue, describing each shot in amazing detail even in the press conference's 32nd hour. "When I was with Seattle the game winner in Phoenix was awesome, and I really liked pulling up on the (fast) break against the Lakers that time."
After the press conference, which began on Thursday and wrapped up late Saturday night, Allen apologized for wasting 10 or so minutes of the media's time when he erroneously included several 22-foot jumpers from the 1997-98 season when the 3-point line had actually been moved back to the original distance of 23 feet, 9 inches.
