Blake_GriffinKeith Allison/FlickrWatching Clippers forward Blake Griffin jump over the hood of a Kia Optima and complete a two-handed slam to cap off his his Slam Dunk Contest win somehow disappointed those in attendance and millions watching around the world who had hoped to see something even more spectacular from the star rookie.

"You'd think the guy largely regarded as the best dunker in the game would come with something better," said Doug Recklin from his seat at the Staples Center, upset Griffin used a vehicle with a mere 57-inch clearance. "I can't fault him for being environmentally conscious in using an economical car that gets thirty-five miles per gallon highway while still having enough juice to generate 200 horsepower at 6300 RPMs, but this is America. Roll a gas guzzling monster SUV out there."

Added Robert Yeagts watching from home, "A dunk over a that type of car needs a little extra oomph to be memorable — make it a reverse, a tomahawk, a windmill, a 360 — something. That same dunk over a Kia Sedona would have been much better, but he just looked lazy using a mid-sized sedan."

Fans would have also liked to see the 7-foot tall Serge Ibaka take off from farther away than the free throw line since, with his wingspan, he can probably dunk flat-footed from like 10-feet away.
