According to a poll conducted by the USA Today, millions of baseball fans across the country were left 'at a total loss for words' by the short stories Fox commentator Tim McCarver shared during the latest World Series broadcast.
"He never ceases to amaze me," Josh Crabe, 27, of Tucson said, following McCarver's 7th inning narrative about the Texas War of Independence. "Just when you think he's gonna tell you the Giants are winning because they've driven in more runs, he hits you with something random out of nowhere. All you can do is shake your head and stare in amazement."
The same USA Today poll indicates that 89% of fans nationwide feel their baseball viewing experience is changed completely when Tim McCarver shares an anecdote.
Said R.J. Plooney, 34, "After Tim McCarver reels off one of his unforgettable tales, I have a hard time concentrating on the actual baseball game. Sometimes I just stop watching altogether."
McCarver says he's glad people find his little spiels to be memorable, 'but in his view', he doesn't spend much time worrying 'if they'll maybe not make complete sense or not'.
