The Quitters and Best
Written by Alex

I've noticed a disturbing trend during Michigan's current four game skid concerning their player's mental toughness. When other teams gain a double-digit lead on the Wolverines, it seems like their defensive players mentally check out.

Where's their leadership? Aren't Donovan Warren and Brandon Graham supposed to be the leaders? Where's their influence on the youngsters?

I realize that losing can be taxing on one's psyche --especially with younger players, but that lame excuse went out the window after their surprising 4-0 start.

It was a beautiful sight to see Michigan open the season on four game winning streak, but once they were defeated by Michigan State and then by Iowa -- things began to fall apart by the seams.

They got hammered by a struggling one win Illinois team, blew a solid lead over Purdue only to squander that lead and then there was Saturday against Wisconsin.

There's a lyric in Michigan's fight song that goes: "Hail, hail, to Michigan the leaders and best." They sure aren't the acting like leaders and they sure as hell aren't the best right now.

It should say: "Hail, hail, to Michigan the quitters and mess."

If this post looks scrambled or disorganized, then I apologize. Just rambling.
