There've been rumors floating around college football that the top two candidates for the vacant Notre Dame job are current Cincinnati head coach Brian Kelly and current Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh.
You read that right, the former Wolverines quarterback. Harbaugh has denied claims that he has already interviewed for the vacancy. Stanford's athletic director Bob Bowlsby told the Associated Press that Harbaugh is not interested in the job. Stay tuned.

Local columnist Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press wrote today about the lack of enthusiasm for Saturday's rivalry game between our beloved Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeye's.
I'm not disputing his argument because he's completely right!
Ohio State already defeated Iowa last week to claim a Big Ten championship, while at the same moment clinching a berth in the Rose Bowl.
Michigan is currently buried in malcontent from the men behind the curtain and fanatical Rich Rod haters. There one game below .500, they can't defend a man in a wheelchair, and their expected o be crushed by those rocket scientists in Columbus.
Oh yeah, there's a good chance we'll be bowl-less!
I dare ESPN to find a reason to be excited about the game.
I'm a loyal Michigan fan and I will be cheering my ass off on Saturday. Will you? GO BLUE! |

I've noticed a disturbing trend during Michigan's current four game skid concerning their player's mental toughness. When other teams gain a double-digit lead on the Wolverines, it seems like their defensive players mentally check out.
Where's their leadership? Aren't Donovan Warren and Brandon Graham supposed to be the leaders? Where's their influence on the youngsters?
I realize that losing can be taxing on one's psyche --especially with younger players, but that lame excuse went out the window after their surprising 4-0 start.
It was a beautiful sight to see Michigan open the season on four game winning streak, but once they were defeated by Michigan State and then by Iowa -- things began to fall apart by the seams.
They got hammered by a struggling one win Illinois team, blew a solid lead over Purdue only to squander that lead and then there was Saturday against Wisconsin.
There's a lyric in Michigan's fight song that goes: "Hail, hail, to Michigan the leaders and best." They sure aren't the acting like leaders and they sure as hell aren't the best right now.
It should say: "Hail, hail, to Michigan the quitters and mess."
If this post looks scrambled or disorganized, then I apologize. Just rambling.

There have been rumors circulating around various media outlets that freshman quarterback Denard Robinson could possibly start over Tate Forcier against Wisconsin.
I don't really understand why Rich Rodriguez would decide to roll the dice this late in the season. Even though Tate Forcier has been struggling in the second half of the season, he's still gives Michigan the best chance to be victorious on Saturday.
I haven't witnessed anything to suggest that Denard Robinson has matured enough to earn the starting quarterback job over Tate. Sure, Robinson's proven that he can make plays with his feet, but not with his arm. I'm beginning to believe that there's more extenuating circumstances than are being reported publicly.
Maybe Forcier and coach Rodriguez aren't seeing eye to eye on certain issues, on and off the playing field.
If Michigan losses to Wisconsin on Saturday, Rich Rod will have a lot of explaining to do on Monday's weekly presser.
With a victory over the Badgers, Michigan would become bowl eligible. They would most likely earn a spot in the "Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.", formerly known as the "Motor City Bowl."
If they cannot manage to successfully complete that feat, the annual Ohio State/Michigan rivalry game will have more significance, for Michigan anyways, than in years past.
Maybe a win over the Suckeye's will cure the sorrows of ailing Michigan fans everywhere. |

According to Dave Birkett of Ann Arbor.com, Wolverines sophomore cornerback Boubacar Cissoko has been dismissed by the team for violating team rules multiple times. The following includes other discretions Cissoko's made during his time at Michigan.
-Served a two-game suspension earlier this month
-Known for being late to practice and meetings.
-In June, he was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a traffic incident, charge was later dismissed.
-Was cited for an alcohol violation and refused to pay a $250 fine, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
It isn't a big loss for the Wolverines, Cissoko's defense was a liability to Greg Robinson's secondary. Troy Woolfolk has been playing in Cissoko's place. |

What began so promising for Michigan on Saturday, ended in an outright football clinic facilitated by the Nittany Lions. Saturday's 35-10 win over Michigan gave Penn State their first victory at the Big House since 1996.
Michigan's futility on offense killed any shread of momentum or confidence througout the game and was a vital cause in their eventual demise.
After Michigan's impressive opening touchdown drive capped off by Brandon Minor, the Wolverines failed to covert a successful drive on their next five consecutive possessions including an interception by freshman quarterback Denard Robinson and a premature snap by center David Moosman that resulted in a safety.
Four turnovers, two on the ground and two in the air, didn't help their cause either.
Senior quarterback Daryll Clark dismantled the Wolverines young secondary, passing for 230 yards an four touchdowns, three of which were caught by receiver Graham Zug.
But as bad as the defense performed, the Maize and Blue only allowed one significant mistake, an 80 yard touchdown connection between Daryll Clark and Andrew Quarles.
A combination of turnovers and inept offense ultimately did the Wolverines in. That's a bad recipe to win at any sport ever!
When Michigan lost a fumble after blocking a punt, I disgustingly changed channel. I couldn't bare to witness a team's body language that was worse than a geriatric patient.
If someone asked me what happened mid-way through the third quarter and beyond, I don't know or care.
With the loss, Michigan dropped their third straight conference game diminishing any minute chance of winning the Big Ten title.
The Wolverines will now set their sights on the one win Fighting Illini. |

I've come up with three reasons why the Maize and Blue are overachieving this season.
1. If there was one improvement that Michigan has made, it has to be the run game.
Their running backs have scored a combined nine rushing touchdowns in the last two games, six against Delaware State and three versus Iowa.
Hopefully, Brandon Minor will be able to stay healthy because he's the key to a successful run game.
2. Even though in some instances the Wolverines have played somewhat lackadaisical, they usually manage to fight back during crunch time. It does help knowing that freshmen quarterback Tate Forcier can put all the pressure on his shoulders and strive. Just ask Indiana and Notre Dame.
Are you sure this young man is a freshman?
3. Brandon Graham has been a beast against opposing offensive lineman and has mustered up 21 solo tackles along with 5 sacks. He's seemingly always around the ball and making big stops when needed.
Penn State might have a huge nightmare defending this guy. |
